NTD
NTD stands for N-terminal Domain. In the context of proteins, particularly the spike protein of coronaviruses, the NTD refers to the region located at the N-terminus (the beginning) of the protein.
The NTD plays a role in the binding of the virus to host cell receptors. In some coronaviruses, it can interact with sugars or other molecules on the surface of host cells, facilitating viral entry.
The NTD is a target for neutralizing antibodies, which means it is important in the context of vaccine development and understanding immune responses to the virus.
