CTD2
CTD2 (C-terminal domain 2) is one of the domain regions in the structure of the coronavirus spike (S) protein, usually referring to the S1 subunit. CTD is the C-terminal domain of the S1 subunit, often called the receptor-binding domain (RBD) or part of it.
CTD2 is involved in the recognition and binding to host cell receptors, which is a key step for viral entry into the cell. In some coronaviruses, CTD2 contains epitopes targeted by neutralizing antibodies.
